In her quest for the Democratic nomination to run in Congressional District 9, Susannah Randolph has received another endorsement from a progressive Democratic member of Congress, U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee of California.
Lee called Randolph a “true progressive” in a news release issued by Randolph’s campaign.
“Susannah has been a strong voice for those who are underrepresented even when others remained silent,” Lee stated. “I am proud to endorse her and loo forward to serving with her in Congress.”
Randolph is in a nomination tussle with state Sen. Darren Soto of Orlando, businesswoman Valleri Crabtree of Kissimmee and Dr. Dena Minning of Orlando, among others. They all seek to replace U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, the Orlando Democrat who is running for the U.S. Senate rather than for re-election.
Lee has represented California’s 13th district, representing the Bay area of Oakland and Berkeley, for more than two decades, putting together a record of commitment on social and economic justice, women’s rights and international peace.
“I am honored to have her support and I plan to work tirelessly to be that same kind proponent for women’s health, justice, and progress in Congress,” Randolph stated in the news release.
