House Appropriations Chairman Richard Corcoran singled out health care lobbyists in Tallahassee during his closing remarks on the House budget Thursday calling them “Gucci-loafing, shoe-wearing special interest powers.”
Well, someone had a sense of humor because within hours there was a Twitter account under the name “@GucciLoafing.” The profile picture, of course, was a pair of Gucci loafers. The background shot was the fourth floor of the Capitol rotunda. And the profile description read, “I’m just a pair of Gucci loafers loafin’ here on Florida’s Capitol Hill.”
The account already had 14 followers including lobbyist Associated Industries of Florida lobbyist Brewster Bevis, Fiorentino Group lobbyist Joe Mobley, Floridian Partners lobbyist Scott Ross, and Florida Democratic Caucus Communications Director Michelle DeMarco.
Some of the tweets published Thursday night included:
“Phew! What a day in Tallahassee. Kicking off my Gucci loafers while I wait for the Cristal to chill.”
“You know what’s hot @FLCapHot? A shiny new pair of Gucci loafers fresh out of the box. Let’s grab drinks soon. #GucciLoafing”
