Democratic U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson of Orlando ripped North Carolina lawmakers and Republicans on the floor of Congress Friday declaring that state’s transgender restroom law “stupid,” and rhetorically asking, “Are you nuts?”
Grayson, in a 13-minute speech given during the House of Representative’s open floor time, offered support of transgendered people being able to use the restrooms of their gender identities. He said it would be ridiculous to force someone who identifies as, dresses as, looks like and acts like a woman to use a men’s room.
Grayson is running for the U.S. Senate in Florida and has a tough Democratic primary fight with U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy of Jupiter and Pam Keith of Palm Beach Gardens.
In his speech his target was the Republican Party, whom he blamed for North Carolina’s law, House Bill 2, and for other laws and regulations like it, such as the Marion County School District’s new restroom rules, though he did not mention the others specifically.
He accused North Carolina lawmakers of being “bigots.”
He accused the Republican Party of trying to put government “under the toilet seat.”
“Are you nuts?” he asked. “Listen, I have heard that the Republican Party is the party of small government. I’ve also heard that on the issue of abortion, the party of small government wants government small enough to fit into a woman’s uterus. Now it turns out, the party of small government wants government small enough to fit under the toilet seat.
“Can’t we all be adults about this?” Grayson continued. “Do we really need a new law on this subject, much less a stupid law, a bad law, a ridiculous law?”
He said the effect of the North Carolina law would be, “People who self-identify as women, people who look like women, people who act like women, they somehow are being driven into the men’s room. And the same thing is true with transgendered people who identify as men .… You’re going to force them into the ladies’ room.
“My God! What’s wrong with you?” he declared. “That doesn’t make any sense at all.”
Grayson compared the transgender restroom issue with pre-Civil Rights movement Jim Crow restroom laws that required separate restrooms for whites and blacks.
Along the way, according to Towleroad.com, a gay news and entertainment website, Grayson became the first member of Congress to use the word “cisgender,” which refers to people who identify with the gender they were born with.
“People who are cisgendered have no right to dictate where people who are transgendered urinate, any more than people who are white have the right to dictate where people who are black do it,” he said. “That’s not America. Let’s show some common sense.”
And he brought props. Grayson started out with a poster picture of Christine Jorgensen, the first famous transgendered person in America. She was a former male World War II soldier who, in the early 1950s, had transgender surgery and therapy in Denmark to become female, and then lived out her life open about it in the United States. Grayson spoke of her in heroic terms and said as far as he knew no one ever asked or cared where she went to the bathroom.
“Now thanks to Republicans, bigots in North Carolina, we have a new law that would require Christine Jorgensen to go to the men’s room. Think about that. Think about that. In fact, the natural consequence of that law is what I’m about to show you right here.
He flipped the picture to show the next: stock art of two young women standing at urinals.
“That,” Grayson said.

THE GAY/ LESBIAN AGENDA FREQUENTLY POSES AS A TRANSGENDERED AGENDA (and… the Gay/ Lesbian Agenda, and the Transgendered Agenda, not to be confused with the “Gay/ Lesbian Transexual Agenda”, and the “Gay/ Lesbian Transexual Gender Re-assignment Surgery Agenda”!… which are other matters, altogether!)!

Such thinking, would suggest that there’s no such thing as “FREE WILL”/ “CHOICE” when it comes to sexual orientation (the TRULY TRANSGENDERED, being the exception to this!)! And again!… not to be confused with those who are merely transexual!… or!… transexuals who have “CHOSEN” “Gender Re-assignment Surgery”!… and!… DESPITE EVIDENCE OF ANY PROVEN BIOLOGICAL/ GENETIC PREDISPOSITION TO BEING “BORN THAT WAY”, AND POSSESSING A TRULY “TRANSGENDERED BIO-SEXUAL ORIENTATION”!

For!… it’s one thing for a six year old boy to want to cut off his genitals due to an overwhelming biological (hormonal) predisposition to femininity!… but!… it’s quite another issue, to do so, based on a series of “familially-based, peer-based, or socially-based behavioral influences (and!… on many occasions!… due to incidents of ‘incest-based, peer-based, or stranger-based SEXUAL ABUSE’!– whether as children, and/ or, as adults!)”!

As for “BATHROOM LAWS”!… a “THIRD BATHROOM”!– AND DESPITE THE COSTS, AND DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS!– would be a wiser solution, than pitting hetero males and females (adults, or children!) against the transgendered, and/ or gays, or lesbians! And to offset the costs for “The Third Bathroom (an excellent title for a movie… starring whoever! And wherein!… a gay, and lesbian meet– and fall in love!)”, I’d suggest, Crowdfunding campaigns!… and/ or!… the proceeds, from a movie!
