An important endorsement came through from Sen. Travis Hutson for Hans Tanzler in the crowded GOP primary in Congressional District 4 Wednesday.
Tanzler, best known in Duval County where his father was mayor of Jacksonville for over a decade, will benefit from the important endorsement from Hutson, whose base is St. Johns County.
“Hans Tanzler is the conservative leader we need in Congress,” said Hutson. “He’s not a career politician, and he knows how to steer a difficult turnaround — exactly what Washington needs. His rock-solid conservative principles are right in step with Florida’s First Coast residents, and we can count on him to serve us very effectively.”
“Travis Hutson is a great, up-and-coming conservative public servant, and I am proud to have his support,” said Tanzler. “I look forward to working with him and other leaders at all levels of government to bring some common sense to D.C. and stop the federal overreach that continues to get in the way of economic growth and job creation.”
While the bulk of early endorsements went the way of John Rutherford in the CD 4 race, Hutson’s backing Tanzler indicates that the primary may be more competitive than previously thought.
