Their divorce is final. But the marital squabbles continue on for House District 14 candidate Kim Daniels and her ex-husband.
In 2015, the Jacksonville City Council re-election campaign of Kim Daniels featured the lurid narrative of explosive charges made against her in her divorce case against fellow minister Ardell Daniels.
Ardell Daniels’ grievance against his ex-wife is still active, as a mediation statement in the case of Spoken Word Ministries v. Ardell Daniels indicates.
Spoken Word Ministries was, at one point, the family business of Mr. and Mrs. Daniels.
That arrangement ended in December 2014, when Mr. Daniels’ “termination” became effective.
Things went south from there, claimed his mediation statement, in which he explained his reasons for suing his wife for “civil theft.”
At issue: $25,000 from 2004.
Ardell Daniels said he was never compensated for his work with Spoken Word, and that $25,000 of his money went to startup costs in 2004.
As well, he claims that money went to the purchase of his ex-wife’s home in Jacksonville, which was appraised recently at $386,940.
The filing claims Kim Daniels knowingly used the ministry as a “slush fund,” paying personal expenses out of ministry funds.
