Kathleen Passidomo boosted her campaign coffers in June, out-raising her opponent in the three-week fundraising period.
But the Naples Republican still lags behind Republican Matt Hudson, who has raised more than $1.3 million between his official campaign and political committee toward his state Senate 28 bid.
State records show Passidomo raised $59,428 between June 1 and June 24. Her campaign received $1,000 donations from the Council for Senior Floridians, FTBA Transportation PAC, and Floridians for Quality Healthcare. The three-week fundraising haul brought her total fundraising to $483,779.
“Working Together for Florida,” the political committee backing Passidomo, raised $70,500 in June, bring its fundraising total to $228,500. The committee received two $25,000 donations from the Florida Chamber of Commerce PAC.
Passidomo spent $80,718 in June, and she has $262,264 cash on hand. The committee spent $9,519 in June, and ended the fundraising period with $193,812 in the bank.
Passidomo will face Hudson in the race to replace Garrett Richter in the Florida Senate. Richter can’t run for re-election again because of term limits.
State records show Hudson raised $14,235 during the fundraising period. That sum includes $1,000 donations from the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, Marathon Petroleum Company, and “Saving Florida’s Heartland,” a Tallahassee-based political organization.
“Making the Right Call for Florida,” the political committee backing Hudson, raised $23,500. That sum includes a $10,000 donation from “Building a Better Florida,” a Tampa-based political committee.
Hudson’s campaign spent $85,442 in June, and he has $288,943 cash on hand. The committee spent $25,772 in June, and ended the fundraising period with $643,481 in the bank.
