Pulse protesters arrested at Marco Rubio’s office are out on bond

Ten protesters arrested for refusing to leave the lobby of an Orlando building where U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio has an office have been released from jail.

The protesters were released late Monday on $250 bond. They faced misdemeanor trespass charges after a sit-in commemorating the one-month anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

Gunman Omar Mateen opened fire at the gay nightclub on June 12 in a rampage that left 49 victims dead and injured 53.

The protesters said they were targeting Rubio because of the Florida Republican’s opposition to same-sex marriage and the support he has gotten from the National Rifle Association.

The sit-in lasted about nine hours until the building closed to the public and its owners asked the police to remove the demonstrators.
