“First Coast Values,” the political committee for 4th Circuit State Attorney candidate Melissa Nelson, raked in $89,000 in its most recent week of fundraising, from July 16 to July 22.
The money came from five donors, with three of them — former Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver, charter school magnate Gary Chartrand, and John Baker — giving $25,000 each.
Nelson’s committee has raised $630,800 thus far, and has $240,000 of that on hand.
In hard money through her account’s last report, going through July 8, Nelson had another $275,000 on hand, giving her operation over half a million dollars as it seeks to stretch the candidate’s 27-point lead over incumbent State Attorney Angela Corey.
Corey’s PAC, “Citizens for Justice,” has just under $58,000 on hand through July 22. Corey has an additional $83,000 in hard money, as of the July 8 filing.
