Democratic candidate Valleri Crabtree has launched a TV commercial on Bright House Networks cable channels in her bid for Florida’s 9th Congressional District.
The ad, “Crabtree Shows Up,” pushes Crabtree’s longtime campaign theme, that she is the candidate who shows up and will continue to show up if elected to Congress in the Kissimmee-based district.
Crabtree, a Kissimmee businesswoman is in a four-way Aug. 30 Democratic primary battle with Dena Grayson, state Sen. Darren Soto and Susannah Randolph for a district with a strong Democratic lean.
The winner would face the Republican primary winner, either Wayne Liebnitzky or Wanda Rentas.
Crabtree has none of the money of the other Democrats but has been hustling on the campaign trail for 18 months, showing up at civic, public or party events almost every day.
“We moved to Osceola County in 2002. I soon became involved as a volunteer and supporter of many organizations. I’ve learned about the strengths and diversity of our area,” she says in the commercial, as photo montages of her at various events come and go. “And when I’m elected to Congress, I will not disappear. Today, tomorrow and during my term, Crabtree shows up for you.”
Crabtree said she paid to place the commercial by specifically soliciting campaign contributions to pay for it. The commercial is set to run on Bright House cable channels such as CNN, MSNBC, and NEWS13 through the Aug. 30 election.
