All told, 60,589 of Duval County’s 565,678 voters — or 10.71 percent of all registered voters — have cast ballots as of the end of Thursday.
As has been the case, GOP stalwarts have outperformed Democratic partisans throughout vote-by-mail and early voting thus far.
Of the 215,025 registered Republicans, 31,143 — or 14.48 percent — have voted.
Of the 230,529 registered Democrats, 10.52 percent have voted.
Given that NPA voters have nothing to vote on in primaries except County Referendum 1, it’s not surprising that turnout — 5,179 of 120,124 — has lagged, at just 4.31 percent.
The district and precinct level turnout numbers provide further insight.
An especially robust turnout district is District 5, the home of GOP Council President Lori Boyer, where all but two precincts have had over 10 percent turnout, with a high of 17.35 percent in one.
Reliably Republican District 6 sees all but four precincts over 10 percent also.
The best performing precinct — and the only one over 20 percent — is in Democratic District 8 though, where Precinct 807 is the strongest in Duval County.
