House Majority Leader holds ‘special reception’ with John Rutherford Sunday

In yet another sign CD 4 Republican John Rutherford will be taken very seriously if elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy will appear at a ‘special reception’ with the former Jacksonville sheriff Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville.

The ticketed event will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Doubletree Hotel at 1201 Riverplace Blvd.

McCarthy, a Republican from Bakersfield, California, was elected House Majority Leader in 2014.

This strong showing of establishment support offers more proof that, even in a year where the top of the ticket has become toxic, Northeast Florida Republicans at least don’t have to worry about losing a seat as safe as the reliably Republican one in Florida’s 4th Congressional District.
