With 14 legislative and executive branch clients, Stuart Brown earned at least $110,000 — an average of $55,000 for legislative and $55,000 for executive branch work — during the second quarter of 2016, which included the second half of the 2017 Legislative Session and a brief special session.
Brown could see maximum earnings of $219,978 — or a maximum of $109,989 for both legislative and executive branch work — during the second quarter of the year, according to an analysis of compensation reports conducted by FloridaPolitics.com
Lobbyists who are registered to represent clients before Florida’s legislative or executive branches are required to submit reports detailing their client roster and compensation each quarter. Reports for the second quarter are due to the state on Aug. 14.
Eleven clients — the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, Independent Colleges & Universities of Florida, K12 Inc., Learning.com Inc., Scholastic Inc., Smart Horizons Career Online Education, Study Edge, Tellus Operating Group, and Tocala LLC — paid Brown an average of $5,000 during the second quarter for legislative work.
In addition to several of his legislative clients, the Public Consortium Group paid Brown an average of $5,000 for executive branch work during the second quarter.
