Today, tune in as the Florida Chamber Foundation launches a free online tool to help close Florida’s talent and skills gaps.
LaunchMyCareerFL.org is a one-stop-shop that helps students look at programs at public institutions and training programs in Florida and analyze their potential personal outcomes.
The site, which will be shared during a press conference at the 2017 Future of Florida Forum in Orlando, highlights in-demand jobs and the skills actively sought by Florida businesses — view the announcement on Facebook Live at 10 a.m., via @FLChamber. In partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, and with funding by Strada Education Network, LaunchMyCareerFL.org allows students to see what choosing particular majors, institutions or programs could mean for them, with the goal of helping them better plan and select careers that bring the most success and fulfillment.
Between now and 2030, Florida will need to create 2 million net new jobs. The demand for both employability skills and digital skills is strong and anticipated to grow throughout Florida. As talent continues to replace tax incentives as the state’s leading economic development tool, the Florida Chamber Foundation believes it is important to ensure all of Florida’s learners have an opportunity to succeed.
