Shevrin Jones holding campaign kickoff on April 25

Shevrin Jones takes a big step toward the Florida Denate.

West Park Democratic Rep. Shevrin Jones is holding a campaign kickoff event later this month in Hollywood.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at Hollywood Vine, 2035 Harrison Street.

No host committee is listed on the event invite, though it got a tweet and some supportive words from Henry Mack III, a professor and associate dean at Broward College.

Jones is currently unopposed in his re-election bid for House District 101, a Democratic stronghold in Broward County that he’s held since the 2012 election.

At the end of February, Jones had raised over $34,000 for his re-election bid and had about $7,500 on hand.
