Audrey Gibson raising coin April 25 at Intuition Ale Works

Incoming Senate Minority Leader Audrey Gibson is holding a fundraiser Wednesday to support her re-election to Jacksonville-based Senate District 6.

The event will be held at Intuition Ale Works, 929 East Bay Street, from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Those looking to attend can send a note to Melissa Langley at Melissa@TheFiorentinoGroup.com or call 904-358-2757.

Gibson was voted Senate Democratic Leader Designate in November in the wake of former Sen. Jeff Clemens resignation. She will succeed current Senate Democratic Leader Oscar Braynon II after the 2018 elections.

Gibson was elected in the Senate in 2011 and is running for her final term in the fall. Jacksonville City Councilman Reggie Brown is challenging the longtime lawmaker in the Democratic Primary.

Through March, Gibson was far in the lead fundraising wise with more than $120,000 banked, while Brown’s only fundraising thus is a $2,500 loan.

SD 6 replaced the old Senate District 9 and is a Democratic stronghold covering the majority of the I-295 beltway in Jacksonville. Gibson was re-elected without opposition in 2016.

The invitation is below.
