As it gears up for the “critical” 2018 elections, the Florida Democratic Party announced Friday another crop of new hires.

“It’s going to take a committed, experienced, and motivated staff of Democrats to help us take back Florida after nearly 20 years of Republican rule — and we are building a team who is ready to do just that,” FDP Chair Terrie Rizzo said in a news release.

“We are continuing to implement a 67-county strategy, engaging people in every corner of Florida who are tired of decades of failed Republican policies. We are talking to voters about expanding Medicaid, investing in our public schools, creating economic opportunities for everyone, and putting an end to gun violence. Floridians are ready for change and we are offering it.”

Upper-level additions include Obama 2012 vet Steven Jackson, who will serve as coordinated director; former FDP Deputy Communications Director Amir Avin, who will serve as field director; former AIPAC national development program manager Lisa Fishman, who will serve as finance operations director; and former CAIR Florida and Florida Young Democrats comms director Ali Akin Kurnaz, who will serve as digital manager.

Friday’s staffing announcement follows more than a dozen key hires and promotions announced in March, including elevating Roosevelt Holmes III to a senior adviser to the party.

Other hires in the announcement:

Sierra Fareed was hired as finance assistant.

Jami Hudson was hired as community engagement director for Southwest Florida.

Elena McCullough was hired as community engagement director for greater Tampa Bay.

Adi Ramachandran was hired as deputy data director.
