Starting Nov. 19, MedMen will be marking its territory in the state capital with a grand opening in Tallahassee for the cannabis company.
MedMen Enterprises is a leading cannabis retail company with operations across the United States. It has 19 licensed facilities around the country, and its goal is to change how people see cannabis. From how the facilities are designed, to setting the bar on both quality and excellence.
That extends to its products, too, from the contents down to the packaging — its topical creams could sit on a shelf next to premium cosmetics and its pre-rolled whole flower products wouldn’t look out of place in a humidor.
The company is growing at a rapid rate, and it is now opening a new location in Tallahassee, making it the eighth of its 19 locations. It’s other shops are in Jacksonville Beach, Key West, Orlando, Pensacola, Sarasota, St. Petersburg and West Palm Beach.
General Manager Trevor Stuck will be cutting the ribbon at 9 a.m. and will also offer some prizes and deals for the first 100 customers who show up. These customers will receive 25 percent off their first purchase and will receive a “swag bag” that contains some special gifts as well.
A portion of the proceeds made during the first month will go toward Epilepsy Florida, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting people impacted by epilepsy. It does this by researching the challenges created by seizures.
While the new location is the company’s first in the capital, the company is no stranger to state government.
It is one of the principal backers of “Make It Legal Florida,” a political committee pushing a ballot initiative aimed at legalizing adult-use cannabis. The effort could bear fruit: as the initiative has collected 77,000 petition signatures, triggering a Florida Supreme Court review — a key step in making the 2020 ballot.
