Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, will visit South Florida next week, just days after the first presidential debate of the General Election.
The Bidens will visit South Florida on Monday. Specific details regarding a time and precise location have not yet been released by the Biden presidential campaign.
The visit comes nearly three weeks after Biden made a stop in Kissimmee to focus on outreach to the Hispanic community. Biden will also appear in South Florida on Oct. 15 for the second debate between him and President Donald Trump.
The first faceoff between the two was largely panned as the two candidates — and more so Trump — repeatedly interrupted the other and ignored instructions from moderator Chris Wallace. Trump also faced harsh criticism for declining to outright condemn white supremacy and far right groups like the Proud Boys.
The Commission on Presidential Debates is planning to adjust the rules going forward to help control future debates. On Wednesday, Biden and Trump visited the Midwest for their first on-the-ground trips since Tuesday’s debate.
It’s unclear what the Bidens will focus on in their upcoming visit. The campaign has sought to maintain outreach efforts in Florida, as the state is likely to once again play a huge role in determining the nation’s next President.
