Florida TaxWatch usually trains its eye on government waste but Tuesday the Tallahassee-based watchdog group recognized individuals and teams of state government workers whose ideas have improved productivity in government.

The 2015 Prudential Productivity Award will recognize 217 individuals and teams with cash and plaques for innovative approaches to delivering government services. The Department of Health earned 33 awards followed by Children and Families with 32 awards.

“Efficiency improvement and cost savings ideas like those recognized today, and those in the annual Florida TaxWatch Center for Government Efficiency Report, are part of a statewide effort to increase efficiency and reduce cost throughout state government,” said Dominic M. Calabro, TaxWatch CEO.

Award winners will be honored during five statewide ceremonies beginning March 12 with a luncheon in Tallahassee, followed by regional luncheons in Lake Mary, Coral Gables, Tampa and Jacksonville.

The list of award winners is here.
