In Iowa, Ron DeSantis bets on Kim Reynolds

Is Donald Trump making a mistake in the Hawkeye State?

Polls of Iowa show a lopsided Republican Presidential race. But while Donald Trump may be ahead in that one, he’s not doing anything to win Gov. Kim Reynolds’ loyalty, and that could be to Ron DeSantis’ advantage.

On Monday evening, DeSantis tweeted that Reynolds “is a strong leader who knows how to ignore the chirping and get it done. She earned a landslide re-election because she delivered big results, and she is poised to deliver even more for Iowans in the special session.”

That was a response to Trump on Truth Social, in a post dragging DeSantis and Reynolds.

“I opened up the Governor position for Kim Reynolds, & when she fell behind, I ENDORSED her, did big Rallies, & she won. Now, she wants to remain ‘NEUTRAL.’ I don’t invite her to events! DeSanctus down 45 points,” Trump tweeted.

Reynolds has appeared with a number of candidates this cycle, but DeSantis and company arguably have had some of the most prominent placements, despite being down by 20 points or more in polls.

Even before formally launching, DeSantis held an Iowa book tour stop in March.

He called Reynolds “America’s Governor” amid mutually admiring remarks.

“This guy is a man on a mission,” Reynolds said at the time.

During a follow-up interview on the Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, the Governor continued to wax poetic about the Hawkeye State.

“You know, Governor Kim Reynolds is a friend of mine,” he said. “And I often tell people when they ask me in Florida, you know, who else has done a good job? I always say, you look what Iowa’s done. They’ve done a lot of the things that Florida’s done.”

He followed up those comments this spring.

“I was here in March and someone kind of took note and they’re like, ‘Man, look at all the stuff Iowa is doing. Iowa is like the Florida of the Midwest.’ But I just want to let you know, after watching all the good stuff you’ve done in Iowa, it may be that Florida is the Iowa of the Southeast,” DeSantis said.

The good vibes continued this month.

First Lady Casey DeSantis launched Iowa’s version of “Mamas for DeSantis” with Reynolds, in an attempt to get momentum again in the state. She sounded like her husband at least once.

“It’s not just the Free State of Florida. It’s the Free State of Iowa,” Mrs. DeSantis said

Ivy League education did not stick on this dude. My 6th grade English teacher would flunk him.

It’s an old Southern high politico trick.
Go to a good school (often northern). Get a good degree (often law).
But when a pol and talking to the goobers back home, talk down-home or even a might tad bit goober (if you catch my drift).

Does Ron ever delve into any of “the things” “they” have done which remind Ron of Florida? What are these things? I have yet to read about any one of them, but that might just be a lack of reporting on details folks wouldn’t normally care about. However, the reporting makes it sound like Ron has the same vague flattery for everywhere he goes, never delivered with any substance whatsoever. What are “the things,” please?

“The things” are enumerated specifically in this very story. “The things” are “all the stuff.” Next question.

The creepy, crepey second Karen always with Ron, is that Pushaw? Did she go from 19yo to 50yo overnight? What happened other than the plastic surgery disasters which were just the face and might have been removed if this is her? I had been thinking it was Kelly Loeffler and that Ron’s box was equitably three boxes tall.

Formerly “pshaw,” an old expression of contempt.
She apparently was designed by AI and constructed by 3-D printer, using lab-meat as fèedstock, all Beta-version.
By repute, “her” personality is even more akilter.

When DeSantis starts hitting Trump for normalizing biological males competing in events created and designed for women to participate in, Trump will get dropped by the Evangelicals faster than a fat kid eats cake.

For reference, Trump overruled Canadian officials and allowed a biological male to compete in the Miss Universe pageant in 2012. This is the kind of warclub that DeSantis can beat Trump silly with.

Trump has some other soft spots that will be his undoing, the biggest being his ego.

Rhonda retracted about trans folks in beauty pageants after i pointed out how that’s an admission that Rhonda’s Ban Trans issue isn’t about fairness or advantage or disadvantage as Rhonda claims.

Rhonda’s issue with Trans folks is just that Rhonda feels uncomfortable. You see, those born with a winkie between the legs are at a HUGE disadvantage in the beauty department relative to those born with those devil slots between the legs.

Since born-with-a-winkie participants would be at a big disadvantage in a beauty pageant, yet Rhonda insists that males and females should not compete against each other … in beauty pageants … everybody knows what’s really up Rhonda’ bugger about trans.

Rhonda just feels uncomfortable. It’s nothing to do with Rhonda’s claims about fairness. Rhonda is scared they might go to a beauty pageant, see a beautiful person, and that person might have a widdle winkie. Oh no! Poor Rhonda.

      Poor, uncomfortable Rhonda.

Just ask Ted Cruz, Ron Paul, and Mike Huckabee how important winning the Iowa GQP caucus is…

OMG the majority of Americans are just out here trying to make a living while these elitists fight amongst each other as if we’re watching a Novela. Please. Get it together people. This isn’t about YOU. It’s about the American people who you need to elect you. What do you know about Americans outside of your bubble? Do you know about homeless vets, people raising children with autism? Low wage caregivers helping elderly and disabled? Fire and police risking their lives daily on call after call with people who need help> Do you care about teacher shortages? Nursing shortages? We don’t care about your internal squabbles. We don’t care about your issues, we care about OUR issues as Americans. WHERE ARE YOU in advocating for the American people and not your own interest? Give us a candidate who represents US the Americans instead of candidates who are compromised by Big Phamra, China and hookers.
