Ahead of second GOP debate, Ron DeSantis takes a shot at Nikki Haley’s ‘corporatism’

Ron DeSantis is on the attack against Nikki Haley ahead of the second GOP presidential debate.

During an interview on Tuesday night’s “Ingraham Angle,” the Florida Governor and 2024 presidential candidate told Fox News viewers that he was an alternative to the “corporatism” represented by the former South Carolina Governor, as evidenced by a war of words over one of Florida’s most prominent companies.

“We’ve seen corporations go very woke and you know, Nikki attacked me for standing up for the kids of Florida and she sided with Disney when we had a big fight over parents’ rights in education.”

“We took the position that you shouldn’t sexualize curriculum in elementary school. Disney fought us. They tried to stop the bill, then they tried to get the bill repealed afterwards and we stood strong against the most powerful company in our state. I think she’s indicated she would have bent the knee in that situation. And I think that’s been more indicative of her approach, but that approach is a dead end,” DeSantis told Laura Ingraham.

DeSantis and Haley have sniped at each other for months over how to handle the Walt Disney Company. Haley accused DeSantis of having a “vendetta” against Disney earlier this year and called on him to “hash it out” with the entertainment giant.

Her Stand For America PAC also calls on DeSantis to “return the more than $100,000 his campaign and affiliated PACs have taken from Disney over the years.”

The PAC attacks have gone both ways. Never Back Down launched a six-figure digital ad buy slamming “Mickey Haley” in the wake of the former Palmetto State Governor’s pitch to the company, made on Fox News, to move to the state.

Meanwhile, there is evidence that GOP voters see Haley and DeSantis as more similar than different. This week’s national Monmouth Poll showed that more than 55% of GOP Primary voters see the two as “establishment Republicans.”

This America is pure genious by The Ronald to get Nikki mentally prepared for her future subserviant position as The Ronald’s VPOTUS.
Its a lot like the #1 manly rule of dating or any relationship involving the man being in control. Establish who’s the boss early in the relationship to insure a Happly Ever After. Nikki will be a great VP she just needs to accept who is the Boss to make her dream come true.
We have already cleared a few subject matter “attacks” she will be allowed to unleash on The Ronald to make the debate look legit. But honestly America can any of you think of a better VP for The Ronald than Nikki? By the way if Nikki messes this up we have my Wife, The Lovely Mrs. Earline Pitts American on standby to serve as VPOTUS for the next 8 years.
So my advice to Nikki was to decide right now what you want to do because your out once we give the beautiful Earline Pitts American the nod.
    Thank you America,

….. BTW America The Lovely Earline Pitts American is a “Real” women and not just me, Earl Pitts American, dressed in drag. Just because she looks a little like me, and we both wear a size 13 pink pump, and we have never been seen together, means absloutly nothing.
I, Earl Pitts American, urge everyone to just mind their own business when it comes to me and my “real” wife The “Real Woman” The Lovely Mrs. Earline Pitts American.
    Thank you America

…. again America, this is nothing like that 1960 TV show Beverly Hillbillys in which we had both Jethro Bodine and his lovely sister Jethreen Bodine both cleverly played by the same actor Max Bare.
Nothing like that at all America,

Desantis, if I can give you any advice it is to be Presidential. Be a leader of the party. Try to make the party bigger not smaller. You are in second position, you do not need to punch down. You do need the field to get out of the race, but I don’t think you can be seen as actively pushing them out because you need to build a big tent. The people want to see you fight Democrats and the Woke; we don’t want you making the party smaller. Eventually, you will get an opportunity, once you are one on one vs. Trump. Even then you just need to point out that you are more electable. So do not do things in the mean time that make you less electable in a National election.

All good advice, Lex, except for the fight Woke nonsense (“The people want to see you fight…the Woke”), a lot of “people,” including conservatives, are tired of his Woke nonsense. The other advice, all solid. And completely ignored by DeSantis, because he is not a real leader, he is not a great thinker. He’s just a stinker. A would-be authoritarian ruler. A little bully. If you were to stand before him and read your advice to him, he would laugh in your face and call for security.

If ‘Republicans’ are now using being a Capitalist as an insult we are in big trouble.

American business and entrepreneurship, the United States Military global leadership, alliances with our allies like NATO, freedom and prosperity were once the hallmark of the GOP! What has happened to the Republican Party?

      – What has happened is a lack of effective, moral leadership and discipline throughout the Republican Party, seemingly ever since its Tea Party “revolution”. In the Democratic Party a guy like Senator Bob Menendez gets forcefully pushed out over immoral illegalities, whereas within the Republican Party such a politician gets “protection”.

Let us contrast Nikki Haley’s sanity with Ron DeSantis’ pettiness and see which is more attractive to voters.
