Poll: Rick Scott above 50%, 16-point lead over potential Democratic challenger
Rick Scott wants states to return unused COVID-19 MONEY. Good luck with that.

In good news for Scott. 19% of Democratic respondents and 17% of those who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 say they'd back the Republican's re-election.

A poll conducted by Florida Atlantic University and Mainstreet Research shows Florida’s junior Senator is poised to win a second term, with the likely Democratic nominee far behind in a poll of 865 voters in the state.

Republican Rick Scott has 51% support in a still-hypothetical contest against former U.S. Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, who has just 35% in the trial heat, which was polled between April 15 and April 17.

In what should be especially concerning for Mucarsel-Powell and the Florida Democratic Party, 19% of Democratic respondents and 17% of those who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 say they would back the former two-term Governor over Mucarsel-Powell, who is better known in South Florida than she is statewide.

While the Mucarsel-Powell camp is complaining that its candidate’s name was presented as “Mucarsei-Powell” in the crosstabs, the issues in play here seem like they may go beyond what the pollster says is a simple “typo in the report.”

Scott has a nearly 2-to-1 lead among male voters, taking 61% against just 31% for his potential Democratic challenger. Yet he also holds a marginal lead (43% to 39%) against Mucarsel-Powell among women, despite the central plank of her campaign so far being hammering Scott about support for Florida’s Heartbeat Protection Act, which bans abortion after the sixth week of a woman’s pregnancy.

Scott leads with all age cohorts as well, with Mucarsel-Powell way behind among voters between 35 and 64 years of age. She has just 30% support among those groups.

Pollsters used text message recruitment and IVR to complete the survey, which has a margin of error of +/- 3.3 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.

I don’t do Starbucks after that silly “third place” nonsense they did several years ago. Dunkin for me and Mucarsell-Powell still gets rolled.

Mh/duuval you are delusional. Mrs. powell isnot going to win period. The dems are cooked in florida . Mrs powell is a bad candidate but lets face it thats all they have. The democrats with a person like nikki fried in charge of florida elections is in deep trouble for many years to come. The quicker you accept reality the less painful it will be after the elections.

This post was more likely to have come from Ms. Pushaw, who longs to be back in Georgia where the right wing is imposing more and more draconian control over citizens — after ethnically cleaning Nagorno. She could probably be ambassador to the US.

Stacy Abrams single handily put a big economic hit on vendors and workers and such when she and her knucklehead Demo friends killed the baseball all star game in Atlanta. Goofball.
