A statewide coalition of progressive organizations is getting behind Debra Tendrich’s bid for House District 89.

Tendrich’s campaign this week announced an endorsement from Florida for All, whose members include SEIU Florida, Florida Rising, Florida Immigrant Coalition, Faith in Florida, Jobs With Justice and the Dream Defenders.

“We recognize that you are investing in fighting for an authentic democracy in our communities and will continue to advocate for housing, education, health care, and criminal justice systems that work for everyone,” the group said in a statement.

Tendrich said Wednesday that she is grateful for the support.

“Their confidence in my campaign energizes me, and I will take actionable steps toward addressing the needs of our community,” she said in a statement. “I am determined to roll up my sleeves and work tirelessly to create meaningful change for everyone in District 89.”

The Florida for All endorsement joins others Tendrich received this month from the Palm Beach Democratic Black Caucus and MEDPAC. They join several unionsmany retired public school teachers and close to 40 current and former elected officials who are backing her campaign.

Tendrich, the founder and leader of the Eat Better Live Better nonprofit, is taking on lawyer Destinie Baker Sutton in a Democratic Primary. The winner will face Republican private school administrator Daniel Zapata, whom the district’s now term-limited Democratic Representative, David Silvers, defeated by less than 5 points in 2022.

Lately a toss-up district, HD 89 stretches east from Greenacres to Lake Worth Beach, north from Atlantis to Cloud Lake and contains Lake Clarke Shores and Palm Springs.

Its noteworthy landmarks include the Atlantis Country Club, Palm Beach County Park Airport, Palm Beach State College West Palm Beach Golf Course and the Trump International Golf Club.

The Primary is on Aug. 20, followed by the General Election on Nov. 5.

You all are obsessed with the fraud of a candidate. It seems you would cover her bowel movements if she claimed that they endorsed her, yet you ignore that she is running around claiming that Lois Frankel is behind her, when indeed sneaky drunk Lois has actually endorsed the other one. As if anyone really cares…
