A new insurance carrier is entering the Florida market now that regulators have given the company the green light to begin operations.
Patriot Select Property and Casualty Insurance Co. received approval this month by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) to begin operations in the Sunshine State. A news release from the company says it has “seasoned industry leadership (and) institutional capital.”
John H. Rollins is leading the company and is a fourth-generation Floridian. He has more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry and is a licensed actuary. He has served as the Chief Risk Officer and Board member at Citizens Property Insurance Corp., the state-appointed insurance service for Florida residents who are removed from insurance coverage due to a storm or other events.
“Thanks to its forward-looking Legislature and regulatory bodies, Florida’s property insurance market is stabilizing, yet there is still a clear need for additional capacity and competition,” said Rollins. “Patriot Select is focused on meeting this need by providing homeowners with reliable insurance options, grounded in sound financial management and a commitment to customer service.”
Other key players joining Rollins at Patriot Select are Kelly K. Booten, who will be Chief Operating Officer after previous service at Citizens, and Marcia A. Lamb, who will be Chief Financial Officer.
Patriot Select will provide comprehensive homeowners coverage, providing support for policyholders after storms.
“We aim to support Florida’s continued growth and resilience by providing sustainable insurance solutions,” said Rollins. “Patriot Select will maintain a high standard of service and trust for homeowners across the state.”
Patriot Select will enter into local partnerships and use technology to begin acquiring policyholders. Insurance Advisory Partners will serve as the exclusive financial advisor to Patriot Select as the company establishes capital and begins transactions in the state.

I think you got that exactly backwards.
FP is hawking the company like crazy. Free ads, free commentary. The company has not responded to a single one on my inquiries.
Pretty certain they are Hard-Left in their politics, otherwise FP wouldn’t be singing their praises based on *NOTHING*!
