Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown is fond of the phrase “next level.” It’s the way he describes his vision for where he wants to take the city.
Despite taking some ribbing for frequently using the term in most of his stump speeches, Brown has adopted it as his catchphrase. And now, he’s putting it into a social media campaign.
A news release from the Brown re-election effort says the mayor will spend the next 10 days using social media “to highlight 10 ways Mayor Brown’s accomplishments over the last four years have taken Jacksonville to the next level.”
“Mayor Brown has kept his word and put Jacksonville first every single day he’s served the people of this city,” said Fabien Levy, deputy manager for the Brown campaign. “He’s proud of his record helping to create jobs, expand economic opportunity, and improve the quality of life for all Jacksonville residents. As we head into early voting, we’re excited to highlight all the great work Mayor Brown and key partners across the city and state have worked together to take Jacksonville to the next level.”
The “top 10” positive social media campaign could be seen as a response to an e-blast this week from the Lenny Curry campaign listing the “Top 10 Ways You Can Tell Alvin Brown is a Democrat.”
Topics for the Brown social media campaign (hashtag #NextLevelJax) will range from revitalizing downtown, to investing in infrastructure, to enhancing the city’s quality of life. The campaign runs through March 6, the final weekday before early voting is set to begin.
