On Thursday, Gov. Rick Scott announced nine appointments to a variety of state boards.
Scott began by naming three to the Technology Advisory Council, a seven-member panel within the Agency for State Technology to recommend and advise the state government on technical infrastructure.
Peter Butler, 51, of Tallahassee, is the director of technology sector for National Strategies LLC. He was appointed for a term ending June 30, 2016.
Kenneth Fountain, 46, of Pensacola, is an attorney and senior partner of Fountain Schultz & Associates. He was appointed for a term ending June 30, 2016.
Allen Ginder, 48, of Jacksonville, is the public sector director of Florida for Avaya. He was appointed for a term ending June 30, 2018.
Scott announced one appointment and three reappointments to the Florida Defense Support Task Force, a division of Enterprise Florida that oversees the state’s military missions and installations. Each appointment is for a term ending July 1, 2019.
Admiral Mark Fitzgerald, 64, of Fleming Island, is the president of Aragosto Global LLC and a retired admiral with the US Navy. He fills a vacant seat.
Major General Michael Calhoun, 61, of Lake Worth, is the Adjutant General of Florida. Calhoun was reappointed.
Barbara Stewart, 69, of Avon Park, is the financial manager of Trippensee & Company Inc and a former county commissioner for Highlands County. Stuart was reappointed.
Major General Joseph Taluto, 67, of Palm Beach Gardens, is the retired Adjutant General of New York. He was also reappointed.
Early Learning Coalition of Marion County
Next, Scott reappointed Roberta Brant to the Early Learning Coalition of Marion County, which provides children and families with access to quality early learning programs.
Brant, 59, of Ocala, is a loan originator with Professional Mortgage Alliance. She is reappointed for a term ending April 30, 2019.
Biomedical Research Advisory Council
Finally, Scott announced the appointment of Allison N. Eng-Perez to the Biomedical Research Advisory Council, which supports vital research conducted in both academic and private institutions throughout the state.
Eng-Perez, 42, of Key Biscayne, is a principal of enterprise risk management with the Advisory Practice of Deloitte and Touche. She succeeds Albert Latimer for a term ending January 10, 2018.
