A national poll of GOP presidential candidates shows that Donald Trump continues to lead the field nationally with 25 percent support. Dr. Ben Carson was next at 17 points, and Jeb Bush third with 7 points.
The Reuters/IPSO poll was conducted online and was completed before the end of the GOP debate on Wednesday night.
Marco Rubio was in fourth place with 5 percent. Ted Cruz was at 4 percent. And Rand Paul, Chris Christie, Carly Florina and John Kasich are all at 3 percent.
On the Democratic Party, side, Hillary Clinton leads with 42 percent. Bernie Sanders is at 27 percent, and Martin O’Malley is at 3 percent.
This was an online poll conducted between Oct. 24-28 of 1,678 Americans. The poll has a “credibility interval” of 2.7 percent. That’s at 4.3 percent for Republicans, 4.6 percent for Democrats, and 7.4. percent of independents.
