Political observers of the crowded HD 11 primary take Nassau County Commissioner Barry Holloway seriously, in part because he’s familiar to the Nassau voters in the district, and in part because he loaned his campaign $10,000 a couple of months back.
However, the donor class seems less sold on Holloway, as November’s tally indicates.
Holloway’s haul constituted of just a $500 donation from Rayonier, which paid for half of his big November expenditure: $1,000 to Dixie Strategies, a St. Augustine campaign consultancy helmed by Brian Graham and Jon Woodard.
Holloway has, between contributions and that loan, secured $20,700 for his campaign. Spending has been modest thus far, at just under $3,100.
