State Rep. Matt Hudson raised more than $53,000 during December, outpacing opponent and fellow state lawmaker Rep. Kathleen Passidomo during the one-month fundraising period.
Hudson and Passidomo, both Naples Republicans, are vying to replace Sen. Garrett Richter of Senate District 23. Richter, a Naples Republican, cannot run for re-election because of term limits.
Hudson raised $53,550 during the one-month fundraising period, including $1,000 donations from the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, Collier Land and Cattle Corp., and Collier Land Development Inc. That brings his fundraising total to $395,256.
Campaign finance records show he spent $4,710 in December and $36,207 since opening the campaign account in January 2015.
In December, Passidomo raised $19,270, including $1,000 donations from Collier Enterprises, Management; Collier Land & Cattle Corp.; and Collier Land Development Inc. Since opening her campaign account in November 2014, Passidomo has raised $206,215.
Campaign finance records show she spent $1,454 in December and $71,653 since opening her campaign account.
Former Naples City Councilman Gary Price raised no money in December. Price ended his state Senate bid last week.
