Sheri Treadwell closes HD 11 fundraising gap in January

The money race in HD 11 between Sheri Treadwell and Donnie Horner tightened further in January. As Horner’s momentum stalls, Treadwell’s surges.

She’s close to catching Horner, who has about $76,000 cash on hand.

Her $13,795 January brought her total up to $77,720, versus $8,554 spent. With a $10,000 personal loan, there is functional cash parity between the two candidates.

Treadwell’s January was flush with maximum donations from the kind of groups that choose front runners, such as Southern Strategy Group, Holland and Knight, and three subsidiaries of Walt Disney.

Jay Fant also maxed out for Treadwell, who has (according to some) become a favorite of the Janet Adkins machine.

How favored is she? Treadwell recently moved to Yulee at Doug Adkins‘ insistence, according to a source, so that she could run as the Nassau County candidate. Treadwell denies that she moved to Yulee for political reasons, saying that she liked the neighborhood and needed a bigger house for her growing family.

Other candidates in the race lag behind the two clubhouse leaders in fundraising. Cord Byrd raised just over $4,500 in January, pushing his total raised to $34,380 (with $11,571 spent).

Byrd’s contributions include two max donations from the Anesthesiology Leadership Council political committee, which almost certainly is an oversight of one type or another.

The fundraising efforts of Tom TaylorBarry Holloway, and Jack Daniels all seem to have stalled out, with minimal January activity, and war chests that pale in comparison to those of Treadwell and Horner.
