Another big endorsement for HD 11 Republican Sheri Treadwell was revealed Tuesday, in the form of former Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford.
“Effective public servants must have strong core convictions and the courage to act on them. That’s exactly the kind of leader Sheri Treadwell is,” said Rutherford in a statement. “She will be a strong conservative presence in the Florida House of Representatives, and I’m proud to support her.”
“Sheriff Rutherford is a principled and dedicated leader. I admire his integrity, and I am honored to have his endorsement,” said Treadwell. “It’s so important that state and local leaders work well together to support our community, and Sheriff Rutherford’s support and perspective will be invaluable to me as our campaign continues to move forward.”
Rutherford endorsed Angela Corey in her State Attorney re-election bid earlier this month. His name had been linked to a State House run last year in HD 12, as well as to a race to replace Ron DeSantis in Washington, but neither of those runs came to fruition
