State of Florida launches “health care complaint portal”

health care reporting

Floridians now have an online tool to report unlicensed health care providers, fraud, health violations and more.

The Department of Health is providing a “new and improved” health care complaint portal, www.flhealthcomplaint.gov, developed with the Agency for Health Care Administration.

“The enhanced portal serves as an example of successful collaboration between the Department and other entities across the state to ensure the safety of Florida’s residents and visitors,” said interim Surgeon General Dr. Celeste Phillip in a statement.

The site also offers info “on which state or federal agency to contact for a variety of issues ranging from Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) violations to independent living facilities,” the news release said.

This latest initiative comes from the department’s Division of Medical Quality Assurance (MQA), which licenses and regulates seven types of facilities and over 200 kinds of licenses in more than 40 health care professions.
