HD 16 Republican Dick Kravitz has slow fundraising in March
Dick Kravitz's electioneering while at the Duval SOE is under scrutiny.

Dick Kravitz

HD 16 Republican candidate Dick Kravitz, trailing his primary opponent Jason Fischer in fundraising by a considerable margin, didn’t help himself much in March.

Kravitz’s $4,475 raised brought his total just north of $78,000, and he has just over $68,000 cash on hand. Meanwhile, Fischer, as of his February numbers, has $126,000 on hand in his campaign account, and another $70,000 in his PAC account, giving the School Board member an almost 3 to 1 advantage.

Notable donors in the Kravitz ledger in March: the Hipps Group, connected to former Council President Alberta Hipps, and Hans Frisch.

Kravitz has an advantage in visibility, in that he is able to campaign during breaks at his government job at the Supervisor of Elections office Downtown. However, time is running short for the career politician to close the money gap.

The winner of this race will replace term-limited Republican Charles McBurney
