The Sheri Treadwell campaign in House District 11 announced the endorsement of the locally influential Florida East Coast Shrimp Producers Association on Friday.
This endorsement for the Republican comes just a day after the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach Thursday night.
“Sheri Treadwell is clearly the best choice to represent District 11 in the Florida House,” said a statement from the association. “Sheri understands how important the commercial shrimping industry is to our local economy and the families who have made it their way of life for generations. She believes in our free enterprise system, and we can count on her to do the right thing in Tallahassee by working hard to lower taxes and cut red tape.”
“I am so proud to have the support of the men and women of our commercial shrimping industry,” said Treadwell. “Their work ethic is second to none, and they represent the best that our area has to offer. I look forward to working with them to strengthen their industry and our whole economy with common-sense policies that make it easier for families to put food on the table and great businesses like theirs to stay up and running.”
The endorsement for Treadwell, the fundraising leader in the race through March, was timed to counteract the en masse endorsement of Tom Taylor by Jacksonville Beaches elected officials earlier in the week.
