The Citizens United Political Victory Fund is behind Patrick Mooney in Congressional District 6, according to a Tuesday press release from the group.
The pitch: Mooney is an outsider, not a career politician. And a conservative.
“Pat Mooney is a true conservative citizen-politician. He’s running for Congress because he’s concerned about the dangerous direction out-of-touch career politicians are taking our country,” said David N. Bossie, president of Citizens United.
“The last thing residents of the 6th congressional district of Florida need is a career politician with stale ideas representing them. Pat Mooney is an outsider who is ready to tackle our national debt crisis, fix our broken immigration system, and simplify our impossible tax code, once and for all,” Bossie continued.
“If you’re looking for a conservative candidate who will listen to his constituents over Washington special interests, Pat Mooney is your candidate for Congress,” Bossie concluded.
In a crowded race in CD 6 for the GOP nomination, the backing of Citizens United could be key.
