State Rep. Rene Plasencia raised more than $14,000 in June, giving him a commanding money lead in his quest to win the Aug. 30 Republican primary to run in Florida’s House District 50.
Plasencia, who represents House District 49, is running in HD 50 this year, faces a Republican opponent, George Collins, in the Aug. 30 Republican primary. Plasencia raised $14,025 in the latest reporting period ending June 24, and spent $2,638, giving him $81,787 cash on hand.
Collins did not raise any money in the first 24 days of June, but spent $10,045. With the $32,560 he lent his campaign earlier this year, that leaves him with $17,886 in the bank.
The winner will face Democrat Sean Ashby in the November election. Ashby raised $1,705 and spent $2,958, leaving him with just $1,071 in the bank.
