Though the official campaign finance reports in the 4th Congressional District race aren’t due for a few days, two candidates have bankrolls.
Nate Monroe of the Florida Times-Union acquired what is being called a “preliminary fundraising report” for John Rutherford from a mysterious source, and that report will have Rutherford at $373,570, with money coming from “local law enforcement and well-known Jacksonville Republican donors.”
Monroe reports that “Rutherford has $255,856 cash on hand … notable donors include former Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver, businessman Ed Burr, Florida East Coast Industries executive Husein Cumber, consultant Michael Munz and longtime Republican donor and activist Mike Hightower.”
Hans Tanzler, meanwhile, claims to have raised $556,000, and reports are his fundraising has been active.
Though there are questions about how much of Tanzler’s haul is self-funded, what appears to be emerging is a two-man race on the airwaves between Rutherford and Tanzler.

Hans Tanzler, just cannot compete with JOHN RUTHERFORD’S, years of service, experience, leadership and integrity and honor…no matter how much money he has !
While Mr. Rutherford, has a definitive record of outstanding and selfless service to this community, what has Hans, been doing ? Increasing his bank account ?
There is really, only one choice in this Congressional Race…John Rutherford, a fine Christian leader !
