Gov. Rick Scott on Tuesday appointed three deputy prosecutors as county judges on the west coast of Florida.
Joseph A. Poblick, who was in private practice, will be a new Pasco County judge. He replaces Judge Marc H. Salton.
Poblick, 41, of Dade City, has also been an assistant state attorney for the 9th Judicial Circuit. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and his law degree from Loyola University.
Joshua Riba will take the Pinellas County Court bench after being an assistant state attorney in the 6th Judicial Circuit.
Riba, 41, of Safety Harbor, got his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and a law degree from the University of Florida. He replaces Judge William H. Overton.
Finally, Michael J. Brown will be a Collier County Court judge, replacing Judge Vince Murphy.
Brown, 38, of Naples, has been an assistant state attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit since 2009. He got both his undergraduate and law degrees from Florida State University.
