Jacksonville supporters of Rep. Corrine Brown are promised music, refreshments, campaign T-shirts and more at the opening of her local campaign headquarters.
The space is located at 1410 Edgewood Ave. W. and the opening is slated for Sunday, Aug. 7 at 1 p.m.
Headquarters for her campaign for re-election to represent the recently reconfigured 5th Congressional District will also be opened in Tallahassee and Quincy.
Though Brown faces 22 federal felony counts with a potential penalty of 350 years in prison, she is still campaigning as if those legal issues are not an issue.
Brown does face some challenges, however. Her main opponent, Al Lawson, has $171,000 on hand, compared to the less than $100,000 Brown reported at the end of June.
Brown does plan to release her Quick Picks, which she memorably likened to a cheat sheet at a dog track last year.
