Ritch Workman’s wife, ex-wife come to his defense in new ad

The women in Ritch Workman’s lives are coming to his defense.

The Melbourne Republican tweeted out an advertisement Wednesday afternoon featuring Terri Workman, his wife, and Tiffanie Lande, his ex-wife. In the 30-second spot, the two women scold his Senate District 17 opponent and encourage voters to back Workman on Aug. 30.

“Ritch may not be a perfect man, but Debbie Mayfield’s dishonest attacks are outright lies or distortions of the truth. So we’re here to set the record straight,” says Terri Workman.

Lande continues by saying: “Ritch and I used to consider Debbie and her husband Bob to be good friends. We introduced Debbie to Bob, even vacationed together. It’s sad that people I held in such high regard would stoop so low for the sake of politics.”

The Senate District 17 race has become one to watch this election cycle. Outside political groups have been pouring money into the race. Workman has been hammered over his support of an alimony reform bill, his support for a bill that allowed some students in the state illegally to qualify for in-state tuition, and accusations he frequented a dating website marketed to people who are married.

His ex-wife has already spoke out once before. In July, she wrote a lengthy Facebook post — which Workman then forwarded to supporters — defending Workman.

Workman faces Mayfield, a Vero Beach Republican, in the Aug. 30 primary.
