Wes White hires Denise Hunt for stretch run

Denise Hunt

Wes White, the 4th Circuit State Attorney candidate, is low on funds and running off personal loans, but that didn’t stop him from hiring Denise Hunt.

Hunt, an outspoken activist for many causes, has been involved most recently in public demonstrations at the federal courthouse in Jacksonville, arguing that Congresswoman Corrine Brown has become the subject of a “witch hunt.”

Now, Hunt is involved in a different capacity in White’s campaign.

Hunt was paid $700 on August 1, joining a diverse cast of characters working for White that includes anti-LGBT activist Raymond Johnson and a corrections officer from Nassau County fired for on-camera police brutality against an inmate. White’s campaign has $1,500 in the bank. His opponents, Angela Corey and Melissa Nelson, have yet to file reports for the most recent period.

Hunt’s Facebook page is one of the more interesting in Jacksonville, with heterodox musings on all manner of political operators and operations.

Hunt had commentary on a forum at Queens Harbor Thursday evening, which she attended in seeming support of White.

“I swear some of you ‘chicken wing, collar [sic] green eating’ negros acting like warriors for Justice and for Obama by day, and then becoming Plantation negros at night out at Queens Harbor … Nothing like ‘fence straddling’ niccas and their fakery..‪#‎ISeeYourFakery‬ ‪#‎BeReal‬ ‪#‎TrumpLovingNegros‬,” Hunt wrote.

The forum apparently went well for White, aided by friend and moderator Bill Hay.

“Melissa Nelson was grilled by radio personality Bill Hay about campaign contributions, Angela Corey grilled by the brother of the S.A she fired for his lack of campaign contributions and Wes White promising to Always represent “the people.” Great evening, No Cracker Hate in the Air, everybody cordial,” Hunt wrote.

Her apprehension before the forum was expressed earlier on Thursday.

“Gotta go face southern, rich cracker hate in Queens Harbor state attorney debate … Help me Jesus,” Hunt wrote on her own page, though she was more positive on the official page of the forum event.

“I am coming to support the clear winner in the race, the only one with a clear, straightforward message for our city that is ‘unbought and unbossed,'” Hunt said, establishing the first link ever between Wes White and Shirley Chisholm, a 1972 Democratic candidate for president.

Hunt and White agree on the future of the state attorney’s office, but there is divergence on the Republican nominee for president.

White supports Donald Trump. Hunt does not.

“See when the KKK Trump fails so goes his regime in Duval County … I can’t wait for this epic ass whipping Nov. 2016,” Hunt wrote.
