Comprehensive Health Services Inc., a medical services contractor working with businesses and government agencies, will expand its Cape Canaveral headquarters by 150 jobs, Gov. Rick Scott said Wednesday.
The consolidation will entail shifting positions from Virginia and pump $4.5 million into the local economy, Scott said.
“I look forward to seeing CHSi’s growth in Florida, and we will continue to do all we can to cut taxes and reduce burdensome regulations so more businesses can succeed in our state,” Scott said.
The company posted three employees in Cape Canaveral in 1999. Today, it employs more than 2,000 people worldwide.
Its growth in Florida will mean a move into a new 63,000-square-foot facility next year. Enterprise Florida, state government’s economic development arm, helped negotiate the expansion.
According to its website, the company’s clients include the U.S. Departments of State, Justice and Interior, Kenney Space Center, and large U.S. corporations.
“By consolidating our offices here in Florida, we feel that we selected a cost-effective alternative for growth,” said president and chief executive officer Gary Palmer.
