Hey politicos, escape Tallahassee this weekend for St. Pete kickball, Ribfest

What better excuse to get out of Tallahassee than … kickball.

With less than a week before Friday’s House Majority Event, the upcoming weekend in St. Petersburg will be filled with fun, fun, fun.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, the first pitch of the Republican House Majority kickball game takes place on the diamond at Tropicana Field – with recommended attire there is athletic shorts or pants, sneakers or turf shoes; organizers will provide shirts for the teams.

Following kickball is Ribfest, the Burg’s annual three-day music, food and charity fundraising event featuring some of the best BBQ in the world. Now in its 28th year, Ribfest offers great food, classic southern, country and rock music and a Family Fun Zone – all while supporting youth-oriented causes.

At 8:30 p.m., there will be a reception to celebrate the winning kickball team.

Tropicana Field is at 1 Tropicana Dr. In St. Petersburg. Ribfest is through Sunday at Vinoy Park, 501 Bayshore Drive NE, on the beautiful St. Pete waterfront. Gates open at 11 a.m. daily.

Join in for some kickball, or sit and watch and eat ribs. Either way … options!
