Florida Republicans are collecting large donations to pay for the inauguration of Gov. Rick Scott.

The Republican Party of Florida reported Friday that it has now raised nearly $513,000 to pay for events surrounding Scott’s swearing in on Jan. 6. Scott was re-elected to a second term in November.

Scott’s inauguration this time around is much smaller than it was four years ago.

But the party has still received donations from many large corporations that have a stake in what happens in state government.

The newest list of donors shows that the Florida Insurance Council donated $100,000 while sugar grower Florida Crystals Corporation has given $90,000.

The party reported earlier this month that Scott Holdings gave $100,000. The company is run by a Boca Raton doctor and health care executive.
