More than a dozen FHCA-member skilled nursing centers and two assisted living facilities received the award notification on June 27.

The Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) recognizes the achievement of member centers selected for a prestigious national award.

The National Quality Award, Silver —  Achievement in Quality is issued to skilled nursing centers and assisted living facilities by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

AHCA/NCAL said of the award:

“At the Silver Award level, applicants continue to learn and develop effective approaches that help improve performance and health care outcomes. The Silver criteria, based on the Baldrige Excellence Framework, provide applicants with a thorough assessment of how their organization works, its effectiveness, and tools for improvement in their approaches.”

More than a dozen FHCA members received the award notification on June 27. Now, FHCA is singing their praises for this great accomplishment.

Emmett Reed, FHCA Executive Director, said last week, “Being recognized with the Silver National Quality Award is a significant accomplishment for these centers.

“We’re proud of our members for their dedication to assessing and implementing approaches that result in better care outcomes. They’re making a positive impact on the lives of their residents and helping their staff excel in quality care delivery.”

The three award distinctions available to facilities across the nation are Bronze, Silver and Gold. The AHCA/NCAL describes the process for achieving a Gold award means systematically achieving each award tier:

“The Silver level gives a clear pathway for recipients moving to the highest honor of recognition, the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award.

“Applicants must receive a Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award before applying at the Silver level.”

There are two FHCA member assisted living facilities and 17 nursing centers being honored. They are as follows:
