Attorney Tom Fabricio has become the second Republican candidate aiming to challenge Rep. Cindy Polo for the House District 103 seat.
Fabricio joins Miami Lakes Vice Mayor Nelson Rodriguez, who entered the 2020 contest in early July.
“I am running for State Representative because I want to do my part to create economic opportunity, provide relief for seniors on fixed incomes, and address issues affecting our quality of life such as traffic congestion and affordable housing,” Fabricio said.
“South Florida is a wonderful place, though with many challenges. I believe I have the record of experience to address those challenges and make this part of the state even better.”
Fabricio earned his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law. He then went on to practice in the field of insurance defense.
He’s also been active in local government organizations. Fabricio served as a Commissioner on the Broward County Charter Review Commission. He’s also been a member of the City of Miramar’s Planning and Zoning Board and the Broward County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
Fabricio is also a member of the Hialeah-Miami Lakes Republican Club.
Polo took the HD 103 seat in 2018 after defeating then-Miami Lakes Vice Mayor Frank Mingo by 6 percentage points.
HD 103 covers parts of Miami Lakes and Doral in Miami-Dade County and also extends into Miramar in Broward County.
