The Associated Industries of Florida’s water policy vehicle, called the H2O Coalition, announced on Thursday the creation of a new website and social media accounts to promulgate their interests and inform the public about the likely upcoming changes in Florida’s environmental regulations from a business perspective.

“This session, leaders in Tallahassee are planning to make decisions on the future of Florida’s water supply that will impact the quality and quantity of our drinking water for many generations to come,” said Tom Feeney, president and CEO of AIF.  “AIF is providing everyone with a stake in advocating for the availability of a safe supply of water with the opportunity to have their voices heard.”

The move comes just one day after the Senate Environmental Protection and Conservation Committee, led by Inverness Republican Sen. Charlie Dean, announced a dedicated webpage on the Florida Senate site to aggregate public comment on Amendment 1, the Water and Land Conservation initiative.

AIF’s parallel effort will likely serve to ensure their voices are heard as loudly as the public’s as tough decisions are made regarding the implementation of the new constitutional amendment. The amendment will likely affect many of the thousands of companies represented by AIF.
