Newly minted Republican candidate Ileana Garcia raised $41,265 in her first month campaigning for Senate District 37, but she’ll have a long way to go to catch Democratic Sen. Jose Javier Rodriguez.
Rodriguez raised $32,610 in June to increase his total to $401,269.
Garcia, the founder of Latinas for Trump, raised a total of $7,455 from June 13 to June 26 and $33,280 from June 1 to June 12. She’s spent $2052 so far and has $39,213 cash on hand.
Sixty-nine contributors have donated to Garcia, including $25,000 from political committees.
Garcia’s political committee, No More Socialism, raised $20,000 from June 13 to June 20th. It raised a total of $38,150 and has only spent $99, leaving $38,050 cash on hand.
Rodriguez raised $7,602 from June 1 to June 12 and $25,008 from June 13 to June 26. He has spent just $32,213 of the $401,269 he raised and has $369,057 on hand.
His political committee, Initiative for Florida’s Future PC, has raised $771,300 and spent $597,152 over the life of the campaign. It has $180,148 on hand.
Alex Rodriguez, a non-party affiliated candidate, has not raised any money. He took a $2,000 loan and has spent $1,228 during the campaign.
SD 37 comprises downtown Miami, Coral Gables, Pinecrest and Key Biscayne.
