Florida’s leading coalition committed to recycling and sustainable business practices have chosen a new leadership team for 2015.
In an election of members held earlier this month, the Florida Recycling Partnership (FRP) selected its Board of Directors for the upcoming year.
Elected as chair is Kim Brunson, who serves as Recycle and Solid Waste Manager for Publix. Chuck Dees, Waste Management of Florida, is immediate past chair. Elizabeth Castro, executive director for the Florida Beverage Association, is chair-elect, and Waste Management of Florida Director of Communications & Community Relations Dawn McCormick will serve as secretary/treasurer.
Additional board members include Steven Lezman, senior director government affairs for PepsiCo; James “JP” Toner, director of government relations for the International Bottled Water Association, and Samantha Padgett, general counsel for the Florida Retail Federation.
Current FRP Executive Director Keyna Cory will continue in her post.
FRP is dedicated to improving Florida’s overall recycling efforts. As a business coalition, members work to reduce the waste they produce and increase the use of recycled materials.
FRP includes grocery giant Publix, Office Depot, Wawa gas and convenience stores, the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, Rooms to Go, the City of Miami and others.
They also help provide greater recycling opportunities for consumers and end users by educating state and local leaders, as well as the public, on the financial and environmental benefits of recycling.
FRP’s mission is to increase awareness of the tremendous damage caused by increased rubbish produced by a growing population.
