Ron DeSantis rips ‘far-left’ Sierra Club when asked about org giving him failing grades

WMUR Ron DeSantis
'They are about partisanship.'

Ron DeSantis is a Double Ivy, but he’s received failing marks from the Sierra Club over the years.

In New Hampshire, he finally got to have his say, in response to a question about Florida’s environmental issues.

“So, first of all, Sierra Club is a far left wing radical organization. They are about partisanship. They are not recognizing what we’ve done when I came in,” DeSantis said, before discussing his approach to “environmental conservation” and his opposition from “Big Sugar” when he ran in 2018.

“They spent tens of millions of dollars against me and they couldn’t stop me,” DeSantis said.

The Governor lauded his own record as singularly transformative.

“And I’ve been recognized by groups like the Everglades Foundation, ones that aren’t as partisan as Sierra Club, as really having been the father of modern Everglades restoration,” DeSantis said.

The Sierra Club weighed in back in 2022, backing Charlie Crist in the Primary and General Elections.

They have also been unsparing with their criticisms of DeSantis.

“Sierra Club Florida has consistently graded Governor DeSantis’ environmental record with ‘F’s’ for good reason. Rather than prioritizing the well-being of our people and environment, the Governor and his administration have focused on culture war signaling and spending taxpayer dollars on political stunts that harm real people. DeSantis’ constant mismanagement and lack of leadership have had a devastating impact on our state, and should serve as a stark warning of his lack of fitness for any office,” said Emily Gorman, the club’s Florida Director.

“a far left wing radical organization”
    What a raving loon.
What would he call real radicals?
Say a semitròpical version of ski lodge burners?

They are woke, boomer, time to wake up.
They literally cancelled their own founder John Muir. Went full on anti-white, which probably excites you.
Plus got bought off in the 90s by big donor money to shift their support to open borders.
They haven’t been about conserving anything in years. Functionally they are just a weak, easily disregarded turnout arm of the Democratic party, folded into the climate catastrophists, and have been since Obama’s second term.

Okay BCY, now do the terrorist organization NRA which literally owns your entire GQP party. They bought off ALL your politicians over the past 40 years.
“Conservatives” haven’t been conservative for years, just like GQP “christians” haven’t been Christians for ages.
Woke means nothing, and you are just a useful idiot for your paymasters.

Ron only sprews hate in his endeavor to divide Americans and destroy democracy and the environment. Thank you Ron.

If the trend continues, Ron will be remembered as the Governor who reigned over the demise of the manatee and the departure of the Mouse.

You need to read the reasons behind the ranking. DeSantis talks a good game on the environment, but he does not deliver. Neither do his lapdogs in the Florida Legislature. I am wondering after his presidential campaign collapses whether the legislators will feel freer to ignore him and vote with their constituents.

I can answer that. Nope. No need to support your constituency when everything is gerrymandered in your favor and you only answer to your own crony interests. Florida is broken.

The crazy-right has moved US government so far in their direction that there is virtually nobody left in American who qualifies as “far left.”

Marxist, communist, socialist, woke, far-left — these words have lost all meaning thanks to disingenuous GQP politicians and pundits, very much including Governor Pipsqueak.
